WordPress, how to customize a Widget in the Dashboard
Here’s a trick I’ve just discovered and I’d like to share with others.
When you enter in the Back End of a WordPress website the Dashboard is there to welcome you. The screen contains few widgets, preformatted with news and feed from the WordPress’ network. I guess few of us pay actually attention to those details since we’re usually too busy in other activities like publishing posts or configuring plugins.
Well, few of those widgets are indeed configurable. Let’s take the one with the title WordPress Blog as our guinea pig.

Passing the pointer of the mouse on the right side of the title bar you should recall a small link, as you see in the picture.

Clicking on it grants access to the option panel of the widget. In our case, we are allowed to set up the URL of the RSS feed from which the widget fetches data, and other options like a new, proper title.

Other widgets might have different settings but generally simple to understand.
A curious fact
It might be interesting to note that the WordPress Blog and Other WordPress News are in practice the same kind of widget. Just set up slightly differently.
That was short. Do you know other quick tips about the Dashboard? Would you like to share?

Something i was looking for a long time. thanks for sharing keep up the good work
Thank you Nimesh, glad you appreciate it. Funny you told me “keep up the good work”: is something I repeat myself quite often. Good luck with your activity, ciao!
